When can I exfoliate after IPL?
Avoid exfoliation for one week post-IPL (which includes scrubs, acids, retinols/vitamin A, and powered cleansing brushes). IPL causes the brown spots/sun damage to darken, and they will become crusty and flake off on their own.
What should we not do after IPL treatment?
Do not scratch or pick at blemishes that will surface. Allow them to heal and naturally flake off. Avoid strenuous exercising, hot baths, showers, or hot tubs for at least 48 hours. Overheating the skin in the first 24 – 48 hours can alter the final results.
What should I put on my face after IPL?
If you have any redness, swelling, itching, or burning following an IPL treatment, applying aloe vera gel or cold compresses can help. If these symptoms persist for more than 48 hours, you should contact your doctor.

After treatment, you may experience some mild redness that should clear up within a few days. After 2-3 days, the post-treatment skin will darken and exfoliate away. Broken capillaries should begin to disappear within two weeks and continue to improve over the next few months.
How long does it take to see results from IPL?
The effects of an IPL Photofacial are gradual, so don’t expect to see immediate results. You begin to see a change in your face within a week to 10 days and on the other treated areas of your body within 6-8 weeks.
Can I use Vitamin C serum after IPL?
