Why do humans get acne but animals don t?
At one point, our ancestors were covered in fur. Our bodies produced an oil called sebum that helped keep this fur smooth and shiny. Then, as humans evolved, we lost a good deal of body hair, but retained our sebaceous glands. So, we’re still producing all that oil, but with no fur, it’s clogging our pores.

Why is acne only on face?
Acne typically appears on your face, forehead, chest, upper back and shoulders because these areas of skin have the most oil (sebaceous) glands. Hair follicles are connected to oil glands. The follicle wall may bulge and produce a whitehead. Or the plug may be open to the surface and darken, causing a blackhead.
Why are humans so oily?
